Aborto Libre Puerto Rico
Aborto Libre Puerto Rico is a feminist collective that works to defend, decriminalize, and ensure full access to abortion in Puerto Rico. From an intersectional perspective, the organization understands abortion as a human right and a matter of social justice, inseparable from struggles against racism, poverty, heteronormativity, and colonialism.
Its work integrates policy advocacy, education, and community mobilization to ensure that every pregnant person can freely decide about their body, without stigma or legal or economic barriers. Through educational campaigns, workshops, accompaniment, and coordination with other feminist and human rights organizations, the collective seeks to transform the public conversation and dismantle the myths that have historically surrounded abortion.
Abortion on Demand Puerto Rico’s vision is of a country where access to abortion is safe, free, judgment-free, and fully guaranteed by the State, within a framework of respect for people’s autonomy. It aspires for every reproductive decision to be supported by dignified health services and by a society that values freedom, justice, and equity.
