ANNUAL REPORTS

The Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico publishes its Community Report and audited financial statements every year as a demonstration of our commitment to transparency and accountability.

We are the only philanthropic organization in Puerto Rico dedicated exclusively and intentionally to advancing gender equity—directly sustaining feminist activism and uplifting the leadership of women, girls, and gender-diverse people. Our grantmaking provides flexible, operational support, ensuring that our community partners can count on resources tailored to their real needs—not just short-term projects.

More than 90% of our funds are allocated directly to this purpose, fueling long-term, systemic change.

Within the framework of feminist philanthropy, our last two reports have intentionally moved away from the term “impact” because of its technocratic and often extractive connotations. Too often, “impact” implies a one-sided measurement of results focused on donors or funders—an approach that disregards the pace, knowledge, and priorities of the communities we accompany.

Instead, we speak of transformation, community, collective process, and accompaniment—recognizing that the role of philanthropy is not to impose outcomes, but to support community-driven processes led by those living the inequalities we aim to eradicate.

The Road to Justice: Paving a path towards gender equity

Strengthening the Movement for Gender and Racial Justice in Puerto Rico

Since its founding, the Women’s Foundation in Puerto Rico has supported initiatives that expand women-led entrepreneurship, sustain shelters and services for survivors of violence, increase access to healthcare for pregnant people and caregivers, and channel essential resources into communities impacted by disasters. We have also backed research, trainings, and community organizing processes that strengthen the leadership of women advancing policies and practices rooted in gender equity.

Most importantly, this work demonstrates a transformative truth: when women and gender-diverse people are supported, families grow stronger, communities become more resilient, and all of Puerto Rico moves forward.
