SUMMARY:Asamblea Anual 2025: Investigación feminista para el cambio sistémico
DESCRIPTION:Este encuentro reunió a lideresas\, investigadoras y organizaciones comunitarias para reflexionar sobre el poder de la investigación feminista como herramienta de transformación social. A través de datos rigurosos con perspectiva de género\, la Fundación reafirmó su compromiso con visibilizar las realidades de las mujeres\, niñas y personas de género expansivo\, y con impulsar políticas públicas basadas en evidencia que atiendan las raíces de la desigualdad. \n  \nDurante la asamblea se presentaron tres investigaciones clave de SIEMPREVIVAS RUM\, Colectivo Ilé y el Observatorio de Equidad de Género\, que destacan modelos comunitarios replicables\, estudios antirracistas y análisis sobre la orfandad por feminicidio en Puerto Rico. Estas iniciativas demuestran que los datos con enfoque feminista son esenciales para guiar soluciones sostenibles y construir un país más justo. Gender equity in Puerto Rico\, and the world\, faces immense challenges\, but together\, we can weave a stronger future.\nThis special evening will bring together gender justice leaders from Puerto Rico and the diaspora\, alongside key allies in New York City. Over cocktails and light bites\, we’ll share achievements\, strengthen alliances\, and explore how you can play a vital role in shaping the future of gender justice in Puerto Rico and beyond.\nLet’s raise a glass—to progress\, to partnership\, and to a more just world.\n\n\n\n\nStory\n\nThe devastation caused by Hurricane María in 2017 intensified the inequity and violence that profoundly affect the lives of women in Puerto Rico. \nThe feminist Puerto Rican leaders who created the Foundation understood the crucial need to drive feminist philanthropic investment in support of the collaborative and transformational efforts of non-governmental women’s organizations\, many of which operate with limited resources. \nThe Puerto Rico Women’s Foundation was born from the awareness and determination of an alliance of feminist Puerto Rican women of the diaspora with others living in the Puerto Rico archipelago. \nWomen have proven time and again\, to be instrumental in providing rapid\, pertinent response in the defense and protection of the rights and well-being of families and communities. We support them in their mission. \n\nWe are the only philanthropic organization in Puerto Rico focusing exclusively in gender equity and feminist mobilization.\n\n\n  \n\n\nMISSION\n\n\n\nThe Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico (FMnPR)\, founded by women in the Diaspora and in Puerto Rico\, promotes social justice and supports the economic security\, safety\, health\, reproductive autonomy and general empowerment of women\, girls and gender-fluid individuals in Puerto Rico. \n\n\n\nVISION\n\n\n\nWe visualize an equitable Puerto Rico committed to social justice\, where women\, girls and gender fluid people are protagonists and can fully develop in freedom throughout their lives. \n\n\n\nOUR EFFORTS\n\n\n\n\nAs feminist donors\, our goal is to nurture a set of strong feminist organizations that lead a transformation of the power structures to advance gender rights. We invest in organizations that serve women and girls in all the diversity as well as the non-binary community. Many of these organizations lack flexible funds and face barriers in their access to funding. However\, they have a crucial role in advancing the agenda related to climate change\, food security\, public policymaking\, gender equity\, and racial justice in Puerto Rico. \nOur grants prioritize community organizations with insufficient funds whose social impact is not yet well-known despite their outstanding work in the community. We work with the communities most affected by inequality\, discrimination\, and violence. \n\n\n\n\n— \nThe Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN # 66- 0931262). No goods or services will be provided in exchange for this contribution and is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
