At the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico, we recognize that transforming the structures that perpetuate inequality requires reliable data generated by and for our communities. That’s why research is one of our strategic priorities: we support studies grounded in feminist, anti-racist, and intersectional perspectives that make visible the realities of women, girls, and gender-diverse people in Puerto Rico.
We invest in research that not only documents realities but also strengthens collective learning, promotes fairer practices, and informs public policy with a foundation in equity. Our commitment is clear: to accompany processes of research, action, and advocacy that drive systemic change and guarantee human rights through a lens of social and gender justice.
This report presents the case study conducted at the initiative of the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico to assess the key factors that have enabled Casa Juana Colón to provide uninterrupted services for 20 years. The findings of this study will help strengthen and replicate the elements that have supported the achievement of its goals, while also systematizing models and processes that can be adapted by other organizations serving women from a gender perspective.
This case study, commissioned by the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico, aims to assess the factors that have contributed to the financial and operational stability of Hogar Ruth. The findings will help strengthen and replicate the elements associated with that stability, while also systematizing models and processes that can be adapted by other organizations providing services to women experiencing gender-based violence.
With your support, we can document the realities of our communities, amplify their voices, and push for systemic change through evidence-based advocacy.
Together, we can generate reliable, community-rooted data that dismantles stereotypes, informs public policy, and advances equity in Puerto Rico.
