Funding crisis threatens support for victims of gender-based violence

(San Juan, Puerto Rico-August 29, 2025) The Annual Assembly of the Women’s Foundation in Puerto Rico was attended by approximately 50 non-profit organizations dedicated to gender equality. These organizations provide direct support to more than 300 victims of gender-based violence each year. During the event, the organizations expressed how rising costs combined with reduced federal funding are jeopardizing their operations.
