Colectiva Feminista
Colectiva Feminista en Construcción is a Puerto Rican feminist political project founded in 2014, rooted in Black and decolonial feminism. It confronts interrelated oppressions such as racism, gender-based violence, classism, xenophobia, and homophobia, recognizing that all are part of a structural system that must be transformed.
What do they do?
They promote political education from a critical perspective, with workshops, educational campaigns, and spaces for reflection that strengthen the foundations of Black feminism.
They carry out public agitation and denunciation, mobilizations, and direct actions to confront the State and demand justice and rights.
They build strategic alliances with other movements and sectors, and generate self-managed sources of political, economic, and cultural alternatives.
They create and disseminate their own resources—publications, videos, campaigns, a culture of resistance—to make visible the realities of Black and diverse women who experience multiple oppressions.
Vision
The Feminist Collective in Construction envisions a society where Black, racialized, and diverse identities are recognized in all their dignity, and where freedom, justice, and self-determination are realities for all. It sees itself as part of a radical tradition that baptizes resistance as a vital space, sowing the future through collective commitment.
