Coordinadora Paz para las Mujeres
Coordinadora Paz para las Mujeres is the Puerto Rican Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, established in 1989. It works to eradicate various forms of gender-based violence in Puerto Rico through support, technical assistance, and education for service organizations. Simultaneously, it promotes changes in public policy to transform the conversation about domestic and sexual violence in the country.
Vision
The organization envisions an inclusive, equitable, and violence-free Puerto Rico, where all people can live with dignity and security.
What do they do?
They offer technical and educational support to community organizations to strengthen their interventions against violence.
They promote educational campaigns, including projects like “Proyecto Respira” (Project Breathe), and provide an accessible library of over 60 educational resources.
They manage the Paz Fund, an emergency fund that helps survivors break the cycle of violence through immediate assistance.
They maintain an updated Help Directory that assists in locating available support resources for survivors.
