A new cohort, a collective commitment:
2025–2026 Grantee Partners

Each cohort is both a reflection of the historical moment we are living in and a collective commitment to the future we are working to build together. The 2025–2026 cohort of the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico (FMnPR) brings together community-based organizations with diverse histories, approaches, and geographies across Puerto Rico.

What unites them is a shared conviction: social and gender justice are built through feminist, collective, and community-centered work.

The following organizations received grants during this cycle, with several entering their third year of partnership with the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico. These long-term commitments reflect our belief in sustained, trust-based support as a key strategy for strengthening feminist and community-led work across Puerto Rico.

Below each organization, you will find a quote from its leadership reflecting on their experience working with the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico during the previous year. These reflections highlight the reach of accompaniment, capacity-building, and relationship-centered philanthropy beyond financial support.

Alianza Mujeres Viequenses

From Vieques, Alianza de Mujeres Viequenses continues to sustain feminist community organizing through an intergenerational leadership model, in a context shaped by colonialism, militarization, and long-standing structural neglect.

The trainings we received last year were key to formalizing our strategic plan and strengthening our communications; both processes gave us structure and clarity. Beyond the grant, the close accompaniment made a real difference in how we think about, organize, and sustain our work.

Colectiva Feminista en Construcción

A leading voice in contemporary feminism in Puerto Rico, Colectiva Feminista en Construcción brings together political action, popular education, and social mobilization. Their work has been central to opening public debate, challenging dominant narratives, and placing gender justice at the center of public discourse.

Colectivo Ilé

Rooted in an Afro-descendant and anti-racist perspective, Colectivo Ilé generates knowledge, advocacy, and community-based accompaniment that centers the lived experiences of Black women and historically marginalized communities.

We recognize that we are a small team, so the accompaniment around the administrative aspects of the study, as well as organizing its presentation, has been a great relief. That support reduces our workload and makes us feel accompanied and recognized.

Aula Comunitaria

Aula Comunitaria is committed to education as a tool for social transformation. The project creates spaces for critical, accessible, and place-based learning, strengthening leadership and community capacity at the local level. In this cycle, their work focuses on comprehensive education around menopause.

Having the support of the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico—grounded in solidarity and accompaniment—has been a very different experience from what we’ve had with other funders. Feeling heard and supported makes a real difference in how we sustain our work.

True Self Foundation

With a focus on emotional well-being, mental health, and holistic care, True Self Foundation works to ensure that care is a right—not a privilege—for LGBTTIQ+ communities in Puerto Rico.

The workshops have been extremely useful for our organization; had we needed to pay for them, we wouldn’t have been able to participate. This accompaniment made it possible to strengthen capacities that would otherwise be out of reach.

Miguel, True Self Foundation

Casa de la Bondad

Casa de la Bondad sustains spaces of refuge, dignity, and care for survivors of gender-based violence, reminding us that everyday care and organized solidarity are also powerful forms of social justice.

Midyear [2025] we were questioning whether some programs would survive into 2026, but FMnPR’s support allowed us to rethink our strategy, access new funding, and purchase equipment for the direct benefit of participants—making it possible to sustain shelter services. For the first time, we also had resources for communications and representation, which strengthened our visibility, led to the donation of the shelter home by the municipality, and renewed the Board’s commitment to strategic planning.

More Than Grants: Accompaniment and Collective Learning

This cohort reaffirms our commitment to feminist philanthropy in Puerto Rico—one that goes beyond funding to prioritize accompaniment, deep listening, and shared responsibility. We recognize that community work often unfolds in contexts of urgency, limited resources, and ongoing structural challenges.

This 2025–2026 cycle is also an invitation: to learn together, to stay grounded in community realities, to recognize what works, and to transform what doesn’t. We strive—humbly and honestly—to be the kind of foundation that accompanies without imposing, trusts without abandoning, and walks alongside organizations as they build lasting change.

We celebrate this new cohort and the work they are already advancing across Puerto Rico. It is an honor to walk alongside them on this stretch of the journey.
